This time, Artkey not only embodies the essence of artist, but also storytellers. With each design, we weave mythology into our keycaps, infusing them with history and deeper meaning.

Amaterasu, the Shinto sun goddess, rules Takamagahara and is the divine ancestor of Japan's imperial family. She embodies light, warmth, and harmony.
A famous myth tells of her retreat into a cave after a conflict with her brother, Susanoo, the storm god, plunging the world into darkness. To lure her out, the gods held a lively celebration and placed a mirror outside. Drawn by her reflection, she emerged, restoring light.
This myth symbolizes the cycle of night and day, the importance of light in the world, and the power of unity to restore balance.
In many depictions, Amaterasu is adorned in flowing white robes with a brilliant halo behind her. For our keycap, we sought to capture her divine essence while introducing our own artistic interpretation.
We focused on four Akey elements:
Her flowing dark hair, elegantly covering the eyes of the sculpt, evoking mystery and celestial grace.
The sun halo, reimagined as an intricate ornamental crown, bestowing upon her an aura of divine majesty.
The Jade Magatama, also known as the Yasakani no Magatama (a comma-shaped stone), one of her Three Sacred Treasures, prominently featured as a pendant, symbolizing her power and heritage.
Colored Shimenawa, a pair of red and white ropes wrapped around the head, often used in purification rituals to ward off evil.
To further highlight her celestial nature, we chose a signature color scheme of red, yellow, and white-hues that represent the brilliance of the rising sun and Amaterasu's divinity.
